Mission Statement
The Princeton Committee on Foreign Relations reaches out to Princeton and surrounding communities, educating civic leaders about foreign policy issues and fostering civil debate about matters of foreign policy. The Princeton Committee on Foreign Relations is a chapter committee of the American Committees on Foreign Relations (acfr.org) and is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization which offers its members privileged insights into the fabric of the foreign relations challenges we face as a nation and as part of the larger global community. We offer and provide foreign relations speakers to educational institutions and offer discounted rates to full-time students at our meetings as part of our educational mission. All our activities are member-supported.

Meeting Format
We offer cocktails at 6PM with our speaker, followed at 7PM by the speaker’s remarks and a multi-course dinner served with wine (non-alcoholic beverages are also available). Extensive give-and-take with each speaker is expected during the question-and-answer period. The fee is typically $70, payable by check or cash.
Membership Screening and Membership Program
Persons interested in joining PCFR should make a reservation and attend a meeting. We are always seeking people who are interested in matters of foreign policy, but do not require a specific level of expertise to join. Each speaker opens up new horizons for all of us, whether new members or longer-term members. PCFR does assess dues to cover its expenses; this year’s membership program will be available shortly and sent to all parties on our distribution list. Current members are always
encouraged to invite guests who may be interested in joining our group.
American Committees on Foreign Relations
Like the true, grass-roots organization that it is, ACFR activities are conducted variously in each of the city committees and at the headquarters of the association. As has been the case for more than 50 years, local committee activity focuses on entertaining distinguished speakers from the international affairs community in off-the-record discussions. Other local activities vary, as the committees work cooperatively with a broad range of civic and educational entities to promote better understanding of, and debate regarding, international relations. ACFR committees regularly share their speakers with local media outlets and colleges, universities, and schools.
